Tonbridge Angels return to the road on Saturday afternoon as Alan Dunne’s side travel to New Lodge to face Billericay Town in the Enterprise National League South. Kick-off is at 3pm.
Angels make the trip to Essex looking to respond to last weekend’s 2-0 defeat against Truro City at the Yeomans Community Stadium, a result which leaves Dunne’s side with six points from their opening four games.
Angels have enjoyed a perfect record on the road so far, winning both their opening away fixtures without conceding a goal. A 4-0 victory at Braintree Town was followed by a hard-fought 1-0 win at Dover Athletic, and Angels will be looking to continue that impressive away start at New Lodge.
Manager’s Thoughts
Dunne is expecting a difficult afternoon against the newly-promoted Blues, but believes Angels can take confidence from their performances on the road so far.
“Billericay are a newly-promoted side and have already had a couple of really good results so we are under no illusions about what a tough game it will be.
“But we’ve been good away from home and we have players coming back from injury so we travel to Essex in good spirits.”
Recent Meetings
Angels have enjoyed the better of recent meetings between the two sides and are unbeaten in the last five, recording four victories and a draw.
Tonbridge completed a league double over Billericay when the sides last shared the National League South in 2021/22, winning 1-0 at New Lodge before securing a 2-0 victory at Longmead in February 2022.

The Opposition
Billericay Town have taken six points from their opening three league games following their return to Step 2.
They began with a 2-0 victory over Dover Athletic at New Lodge before suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat away at AFC Totton. Billericay responded last weekend with a 4-2 victory at Farnham Town and currently sit eighth in the Enterprise National League South, one place above Angels with a game in hand.
Saturday’s hosts returned to this level after winning the Isthmian League Premier Division play-offs last season, while they also lifted the Essex Senior Cup to complete a memorable campaign.

New Lodge is located on Blunts Wall Road, Billericay, Essex, CM12 9SA.
Parking at the stadium is limited, although side-street parking is available close to the ground. Blue Badge holders requiring parking are advised to contact Billericay Town in advance so arrangements can be made.
By Train
Billericay railway station is approximately a 20-minute walk from New Lodge.
Alternatively, supporters can take the number 9 bus towards Brentwood, getting off at London Road before completing the remaining journey to the ground on foot.
New Lodge is fully wheelchair accessible, with hot food and refreshments available inside the ground.

Tonbridge and Billericay both head into Saturday with six points on the board, with the hosts sitting one place above the Angels in eighth having played a game fewer.
