Tonbridge Angels return to the road on Saturday afternoon as Alan Dunne’s side travel to the Focus Community Arena to face Hemel Hempstead Town in the Enterprise National League South. Kick-off is at 3pm.
The Angels will be looking to return to winning ways following Tuesday evening’s narrow 1-0 defeat against Maidstone United at the Yeomans Community Stadium, Longmead, a result which saw Tonbridge drop one place to fourth in the early-season table.
Attention quickly turns back to the road, where Tonbridge have been excellent so far this season. The Angels remain unbeaten across their opening four away matches, winning three and drawing one, with convincing victories at Braintree Town and Farnborough among those results.
Saturday provides another opportunity to continue that impressive away record.
Manager’s Thoughts
Alan Dunne is looking for a response from his side on Saturday and another strong performance away from home.
“We have dusted ourselves down after Tuesday and have moved on quickly. Our away form has been really strong and we’ll go to Hemel looking to put in a performance and get back to winning ways. It’s always a tough place to go and hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for us but we’re made of stern stuff and we travel in confidence.”
Recent Meetings
The Tudors have enjoyed the better of the recent meetings between the sides, winning four of the last five encounters.
Angels’ victory during that run came at Longmead in November 2024, while Hemel completed a league double last season with a 3-1 win in Kent followed by a narrow 1-0 victory at the Focus Community Arena in February.
28 February 2026: Hemel Hempstead Town 1-0 Tonbridge Angels
29 November 2025: Tonbridge Angels 1-3 Hemel Hempstead Town
1 March 2025: Hemel Hempstead Town 2-0 Tonbridge Angels
23 November 2024: Tonbridge Angels 2-0 Hemel Hempstead Town
13 January 2024: Hemel Hempstead Town 2-0 Tonbridge Angels
The Opposition
Hemel sit 17th in the Enterprise National League South heading into Saturday’s fixture.
They have collected two wins, three draws and three defeats from their opening eight league matches. They began with a 1-1 draw against Chelmsford City before victories over Farnborough and Salisbury gave them two wins from their opening four.
Defeats against Weston-super-Mare and Folkestone Invicta followed, before Hemel picked up consecutive draws in their most recent outings. They drew 1-1 at Farnham Town last Saturday before playing out a goalless draw away at Ebbsfleet United on Tuesday evening.
There will be a familiar face for the home fans at the Focus Community Arena. Angels defender Jordon Thompson spent two seasons with The Tudors before making the move to Tonbridge in January.

Looking Ahead
The Angels head into the weekend fourth in the Enterprise National League South, looking for an immediate response after Tuesday’s narrow defeat.
Saturday also brings a return to a setting in which Tonbridge have been particularly impressive this season. Three wins and a draw from four away matches have produced 10 points from a possible 12, with the Angels scoring 11 goals and conceding just two on their travels.
Hemel have had a more mixed start and sit 17th, but recent history provides a reminder of the challenge awaiting Dunne’s side, with the Tudors having won four of the last five meetings between the clubs.
Tonbridge will be looking to change that recent record, get back to winning ways and maintain their unbeaten start on the road.
