Jet-Heeled Jephte Wins POTM

Jet-heeled wideman Jephte Tanga has won the coveted Enterprise National League South Player of The Month award for August.

It is reward for a brilliant first month for the flying-winger in Angels colours with a clinical eye for goal who was instrumental in a successful month for Alan Dunne’s side.

Tanga hit the ground running with a brace in the season opener at Braintree Town before also getting important goals against Dover Athletic, Billericay Town and Walton and Hersham.

Aside from five goals he made an excellent all-round contribution to the team’s success, with a succession of hard-working performances displaying both attacking and defending credentials.

Angels boss Alan Dunne said: “As a manager for one of your players to be recognised as Player of The Month is a massive achievement and it’s fully deserved. Jephte has been in great shape and had an excellent August for us. He’s worked so hard for the team and it’s a great accolade and recognition for Jephte personally and the club as a whole. I’m so pleased for him. He’s a great lad and as a team we’re all really proud of him.”

Tanga told Angels Media: “I want to thank God for blessing me with this award. I also want to say a massive thank you to the gaffer and my teammates for giving me the confidence to go out and perform.”

Congratulations to Jephte from everyone at the club.
