Enfield Town Preview

Saturday hopefully brings our first trip through the Dartford Tunnel of 2026, we use the word hopefully as hosts Enfield Town’s game on Tuesday was postponed and with the weather forecast over the next couple of days, a word of caution is not misplaced.

Enfield Town are now 23rd in National League South, their lowest league position since August.

Since then they have won at the Yeomans Community Stadium in a game which it is thought contributed to Craig Nelson’s departure, and have won four other games, all at home. Their last win was in November at the Dave Bryant Stadium against Maidstone United.

Enfield’s top scorer is ex-Maidstone man Lamar Reynolds with 11 goals. Sam Youngs, who has six, always chips in with a number from midfield including the winner against the Angels in September. They have one ex-Angel in their squad in the shape of Tommy Wood, although he has not been in the match day squad since Christmas. Their manager is Gavin McPherson, the opposition manager for Metropolitan Police on the day we won promotion in 2019.

Donkey Lane, as it is affectionately known, with its Grade II listed art deco pavilion, which houses the clubhouse and main stand, has long been on the “must do” list of many a groundhopper.

The six-lane athletics track does mean that the stand is set back some distance from the pitch but behind the goals there is covered terracing that is positioned inside the perimeter of the track. Opposite the main stand is a seated stand that straddles the half-way line.

Admission to the game online is Adults £15, Concessions £11, Young Adult (16-21) £9 and children under 16, accompanied by an adult, £2. Tickets can be purchased HERE. Pay on the day prices rise by £1. Transfer to the main stand is £3, cash only.

Enfield Town are making the generous offer of free admission to public service workers and eligibility for the offer can be viewed HERE

Last season’s corresponding fixture saw the Angels overturn a single goal half-time deficit to win 3-1 with goals from Ronny Nelson, Sean Shields and Gianluca Botti.

Rail travellers should alight at either Enfield Town or Southbury, the nearest train stations to the stadium. Both stations are on the London Overground network and are around 25 minutes’ walk to the stadium.

There is car parking adjacent to the stadium, but this does get busy on match days.

Enjoy the game!
