Angels O60 Greens 5–0 Haydens Strollers
The Greens finally returned to winning ways with a superb performance over Haydens at Yeomans Community Stadium on Saturday.
Facing directly into the sun in the first half the Greens took a couple of minutes to gather themselves but from then on were dominant. Sharp passing left Kevin Chivers free on 11 minutes to score the first and he followed that up five minutes later with a rocket shot to emphasise the our superiority. Then just before the halftime whistle Mike Dews cut inside and launched an unstoppable shop into the far corner to give the Greens a 3-0 half time lead.
Early in the second half Haydens tried to fight back but it was not until halfway through the half that our goalkeeper Jon Langley had a shot to save. By then Kevin Chivers had scored his third goal and on 33 minutes he calmly walked through the defence to score his fourth making the score 5-0. In doing so he became the team’s leading scorer this season.
This was a thoroughly organised and strong performance from our players. Everyone played their part and hopefully we can continue this form into our next home game against Anchorians on Monday 2nd February at 7.15 pm.
