Hearing You Loud and Clear

Our new PA system launches today.

When Angels fans were surveyed earlier in the year there was one gripe and one topic which came through with striking clarity.

That concerned our under-performing PA system which, unfortunately, lacked said striking clarity. Frankly, it was not fit for purpose.

Despite numerous attempts to fix it, the system still didn’t cut the mustard.

That is until a remarkable chain of events brought about the involvement of a local company, who just happen to be a world-leader in audio systems, two club stalwarts Dave Netherstreet and Geoff Curtis who drove the project, and a supporter with electrical expertise, Scott Green, who stepped forward at a Share With The Chair event.

With incredible and much-appreciated generosity, Baldwin Boxall has generously supplied a state-of-the-art system at our stadium, completely free of charge, which has been wowing everyone who has heard it.

The Crowborough-based company boast a hugely impressive client list having installed systems at some of the top sporting stadia in this country including Old Trafford, Twickenham, Stamford Bridge and Tottenham Hotspur.

And supporter Scott, of SG & Sons Electrical, also gave his time and expertise for free.

Now, during our pre-season curtain-raiser against Biggleswade FC, the new system will be put through its paces in a live situation for the first time.

The new system has been designed to deliver clearer announcements, improved matchday music and, we are very confident, an overall better experience for everyone visiting the Yeomans Community Stadium, Longmead.

Director Geoff Curtis who was involved in the project from start to finish said: “We are so deeply grateful to Baldwin Boxall and Scott Green for their kindness. Baldwin Boxall have a strong community support ethos and this is part of their giving.

“It is also fantastic to be able to deliver something for our supporters. We knew it was a frustration for them and the supporter survey earlier this year confirmed this so, as a club, we are delighted to be able to deliver this project.”

As this is a live test, there may be some minor adjustments as we fine-tune everything. We’d love to hear your feedback after the match.

We look forward to welcoming you on Saturday and hope you enjoy the improved matchday atmosphere.

We will be telling the full story of this remarkable tie-up with a local company and the power of listening to supporters later this week as well as more about the involvement of Scott Green and Ray and John Ellis.

For now, we hope you are impressed as we’ve been with the new system.
