Following an injury sustained during Saturday’s pre-season friendly at Wingate and Finchley it has been confirmed that combative midfielder Brad Williams has suffered a break to the lateral malleolus.
This is the prominent bony bump on the outside of the ankle, formed by the lower end of the fibula bone. It acts as a key stabiliser for the ankle joint and serves as an attachment point for vital lateral ligaments and tendons.
Though the rehabilitation period remains unclear, the injury does mean that Brad will be out for the foreseeable future.
Manager Alan Dunne said: “I am really disappointed for Brad as he was superb for me last season and he had returned as hungry as ever to continue from where he left off.
“We all wish him the very best and the speediest of recoveries.”
