Tonbridge Angels are back on the road on Tuesday evening as they make the trip to Crabble to face Dover Athletic in the Enterprise National League South. Kick-off is at 7:45pm.
Angels will be looking to bounce back after narrowly going down 2-1 at home to league big-hitters Torquay United on Saturday.
Manager’s Thoughts
Alan Dunne said:
“We’re expecting a really tough game. It’s the first of eight Kent derbies this season and we know what we’ll be up against.
“Dover had a really good win on Saturday, banging in five goals so they’ll want to build on that.
“But we’ve been looking good ourselves and I felt we were unlucky not to get a draw against Torquay.
“I think we owe Dover one too because on our last visit here we didn’t really turn up but fans can be assured that the boys will be fully up for this game and I know we’ll have a good following of our fans too and we’re determined to put on a good display for them.”
Recent Meetings
Tonbridge have enjoyed plenty of success in recent meetings between the two sides, winning four of the last five encounters, including a pre-season friendly at Crabble in July 2024.
Dover did come out on top in the most recent meeting, however, securing a 2-0 victory on home soil in March.
10 March 2026: Dover Athletic 2-0 Tonbridge Angels
4 October 2025: Tonbridge Angels 2-1 Dover Athletic
27 July 2024: Dover Athletic 2-4 Tonbridge Angels (Friendly)
23 January 2024: Dover Athletic 1-2 Tonbridge Angels
15 August 2023: Tonbridge Angels 1-0 Dover Athletic
The Opposition
Dover Athletic endured a difficult start to their Enterprise National League South campaign a week Saturday, suffering a 2-0 defeat away at Billericay Town. They followed that with a thrilling 5-3 victory at home to Slough Town on Saturday.
Dover finished 20th in the National League South last season, eventually securing their Step 2 status with a seven-point cushion over the relegation places.
Their preparations for the new campaign included five victories from eight pre-season fixtures, alongside two draws and a solitary defeat against Gillingham. Dover have also continued to add to their squad, with Jack Bates and Fuad Sesay joining the club last week.
