Tonbridge Angels return to the Yeomans Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon as Truro City make the trip to Kent in the Enterprise National League South. Kick-off is at 3pm.
The Angels head back to Longmead with two victories from their opening three games following Tuesday night’s hard-fought 1-0 win at Dover Athletic. Jephte Tanga’s second-half strike proved the difference at Crabble as Alan Dunne’s side secured their second away victory and second clean sheet of the new campaign.
It was the perfect response to Saturday’s narrow 2-1 defeat against Torquay United and leaves the Angels looking to turn their impressive start on the road into a first home victory of the season.
Manager’s Thoughts
Alan Dunne is expecting another tough test at Longmead on Saturday.
“Truro will have been stung by relegation from the National League and will be out to prove a point. They arrive here unbeaten in their first two matches, with a win and a draw, so we will be looking to dent that.”
Dunne is also keen for his side to build on six points from their opening three games and reward the support they have received so far this season.
“Now we owe our fans a big performance at home. You have been second-to-none in all three games so far and I want more of the same this afternoon.”
Recent Meetings
The last five meetings between Tonbridge and Truro span more than 13 years, with the two sides spending much of that time competing at different levels.
Truro enjoyed the better of the two previous encounters, recording a 2-1 victory on home soil in October 2024 before leaving Longmead with all three points following a 1-0 win in February 2025.
Before that, the Angels had won three consecutive meetings between the sides, including a 3-2 victory all the way back in April 2013.
15 February 2025: Tonbridge Angels 0-1 Truro City
26 October 2024: Truro City 2-1 Tonbridge Angels
23 March 2024: Tonbridge Angels 2-1 Truro City
28 October 2023: Truro City 1-2 Tonbridge Angels
27 April 2013: Tonbridge Angels 3-2 Truro City
The Opposition
Truro City have made an unbeaten start to life back in the Enterprise National League South following their relegation from the National League last season.
A 2-0 victory over Maidenhead United on the opening day was followed by a goalless draw away at Chelmsford City, leaving Truro yet to concede in the league this season.
Saturday’s visitors returned to Step 2 after finishing bottom of the National League in 2025/26. They were also in National League Cup action on Tuesday evening, securing a 2-1 victory over Southampton ahead of the trip to Longmead.
