Baker Ready To Deliver Again

Striker Frankie Baker is the latest Angel to sign-up for the 2026/27 campaign.

Baker, 20, arrived at The Yeomans Community Stadium, Longmead at the start of the year on an initial one month loan from Millwall where he had been since the age of nine, after being scouted while playing Sunday football.

He was given a place in the Under-10’s and progressed through the age groups before being offered an Academy place as a 16 year-old.

He was member of a highly successful Lions Under-18 side that reached the FA Youth Cup semi-final in 2024 scoring plenty of goals in his two years at that level.

While at Angels, Baker impressed boss Alan Dunne with his work ethic and battling qualities, which never gave National South defenders a moment’s peace and his loan was extended until the end of the season.

Now Baker is officially an Angel after scoring six goals in 24 appearances, yet his overall play and contribution to the side has also been a determining factor.

Baker told Angels Media: “I’m very excited to be signing for Angels and starting this next chapter in my career. I’m grateful for the opportunity to join such a hardworking team and I’m ready to give my absolute all on the pitch and contribute to the club’s success. I can’t wait to play in front of the fans again and score goals.”

After securing Baker’s signature, Angels boss Alan Dunne added: “I’m absolutely delighted that Frankie’s staying with us. We were his only choice. He wanted to stay with us because he thoroughly enjoyed his time here and he feels like this is the club for him and I believe that, as a player, Frankie is only going to get better.

“I’m really pleased to have someone like Frankie who is young and hungry. He wants to learn and wants to get better and he has all the attributes to play at the top level and I’m really pleased he’s chosen us to help him with his development and we couldn’t be more pleased to have him with us for next season.”
