Clare Dance joins Angels as Welfare Officer

Well known local grassroots football secretary, Clare Dance, has joined Angels as Welfare Officer.

Clare brings nearly 15 years’ experience in local football having been youth secretary and more recently club secretary at Ide Hill FC.

Clare said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining Tonbridge Angels. My journey in the game began as a youth secretary, where I developed a strong commitment to supporting young players and their development. I then stepped into the role of club secretary, which allowed me to further build my leadership and organisational experience within the sport.

“As a mother of four football-loving boys, my passion for the game has been shaped by my family. Everything I do in football is driven by a desire to create a positive, supportive environment for young players and their families.

“I am very excited about this new opportunity and aim to take a hands-on approach—encouraging anyone who needs support to feel comfortable reaching out. I look forward to meeting as many members of the Tonbridge Angels community as possible before the end of the season, with the aim of building lasting and positive relationships across the club.”

Angels’ Chair, Sophie Purves said: “Clare is a great addition to the team and I have no doubt she’ll be a superb asset to the club. Alongside her administrative roles at Ide Hill FC, Clare has also served as their welfare officer for the past 13 years. During this time she has gained extensive experience in safeguarding and player wellbeing and will bring these skills to support our Academy and youth players.”

Welcome to Tonbridge Angels Clare!
