Amy Scott, the partner of the much-loved midfielder Devonte Aransibia who we lost last year, ran The London Marathon in his memory to raise money for Samaritans. She smashed her target, had a day to remember and did everyone proud. Here’s what she told Angels Media.
“Thank you so much for for all the support from everyone at Tonbridge Angels throughout this journey — it has genuinely meant so much to me.
“Despite the hot weather and definitely a fair bit of pain along the way, I honestly had the most amazing day. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but also one of the most magical experiences. Hearing my name being shouted and cheered by the crowds hundreds of times throughout the course was incredibly emotional and something I’ll never forget.
“Crossing that finish line on The Mall was such an overwhelming moment of pride, emotion, and gratitude. To complete the marathon in memory of Dev made it even more special, and knowing I was able to raise money for Samaritans, a cause so close to my heart, gave me the strength to keep going even when things got really tough.
“It was an unforgettable experience, and I feel incredibly proud to have done it. Thank you again to the whole Tonbridge family for all the encouragement, kindness, and support — it truly helped carry me through.”
Well done Amy! The whole Angels family is incredibly proud of you and what you have achieved.
