Angels boss Alan Dunne says he wants to win every game, is taking the Kent Senior Cup seriously and will be putting out a strong side on Tuesday night.
Dunne’s Angels entertain League Two side Gillingham at The Yeomans Community Stadium, Longmead, in the quarter-final of the competition with the right to face an away trip to Chatham in the semi-finals.
With neighbours Maidstone United already in the final, Angels and The Gills are playing catch-up.
March is a particularly busy month in the Enterprise National South League with a full programme of Saturday fixtures and two midweek away trips to Dover Athletic and Weston-super-Mare.
Mindful of that, Dunne knows he needs every member of his squad to be ready when called upon and sees the Gills match as a chance to give players vital minutes:
“We take every game seriously. Anyone who knows me, knows I want to win every game, including this one. We want to progress in a competition we haven’t won for many, many years. I’ve always said I want to create memories at this club and see this as another competition in which to do so, so you can rest assured I will be putting a strong team out.
“Having said that, March is going to be a particularly busy month for us with seven games to play and plenty of travelling too.
“That means that every member of this squad is likely to be involved at some point and it’s important that everyone is ready when called upon and tonight’s match does give me a chance to give some players vital game time.”
Our normal match preview with admission details and food and drink available on the night will be published tomorrow.
