New academy football programme launched

Tonbridge Angels Football Club will be delivering a new academy education and football programme at the Yeomans Community Stadium from September 2026.

16-18 year olds will have the opportunity to gain a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching & Development while furthering their football aspirations playing for the club’s Academy sides and training alongside the men’s first team.

The club is teaming up with VLUK, a government approved education partner which already delivers education programmes at Ebbsfleet United, Dorking Wanderers and Chatham Town Football Club. Our students will learn in a purposely designed classroom at the stadium and will play matches and train on our FIFA certified 3G pitch. The site will be known to our students as the VLUK Tonbridge Angels Campus.

Academy trials will take place on Monday 2nd February (7pm to 9pm) and Monday 16th February (3.30pm to 5pm) and will be overseen by men’s first team manager, Alan Dunne and our team of UEFA qualified coaches.

Alan Dunne said, “This is a great educational and football opportunity with a meaningful pathway to the men’s first team. The students will be training every week alongside the men’s first team who will be doing some daytime training sessions next season. With a classroom based at the club, we feel it will be a positive learning experience for all our students.

To book your place at the trial where you will train on our pitch and learn more information about our education programme, please complete the form following the link below. Please note, if you have attended a recent trial, you will still need to come along to our new trials to secure a place for September if you would like to join our new in-house education programme.
