Tonbridge Angels 0 Sutton United 2
Angels’ second pre-season game saw a defeat to National League side Sutton United.
Charlie Carter gave the visitors a fourth minute lead and the side from Gander Green Lane enjoyed the bulk of the possession in the opening 20 minutes.
Angels had a penalty shout turned down on the half hour when Tanga thought he was fouled in the box but the claim was denied.
Shortly after half-time, Sutton went two up and shortly afterwards, Angels boss Alan Dunne made a host of changes.
This included academy player Dani Sulovari who made the bench on a few occasions in the 2025/26 campaign.
A trialist (14) hammered a shot against the bar on 85 minutes and then four minutes later trialist (9) won a penalty.
The same trialist did the stutter run-up – great when it works, infurating when it doesn’t – the Sutton ‘keeper guessed the right way and saved.
Angels now move on to Cray Wanderers on Saturday where it is a 12 noon kick-off at Flamingo Park.
