Striker Lamar Reynolds is the latest player to be unveiled as part of Alan Dunne’s plans for next season.
The experienced Reynolds arrives from Enfield Town where he scored 10 goals in 40 appearances for a struggling and ultimately relegated side.
Reynolds might be best known for his superbly-taken opening goal for former club Maidstone United at Portman Road in January 2024 when Stones stunned the footballing world by beating Ipswich Town.
He now follows in the footsteps of his captain that day – Sam Corne, who scored Stones’ second – by becoming an Angel.
Reynolds, 30, began his career with Barking, joining the club’s youth academy at the age of 16.
His goalscoring prowess really took off at Brentwood Town in season 2017/17 when he scored 27 goals in 38 matches. He has league experience with Newport County and Leyton Orient and has also played for Dagenham and Redbridge, Braintree Town and Greenock Morton.
Reynolds told Angels Media: “I’m buzzing and really excited to get going. It’s a great club to be at and I know a few players here already. It was a bit tough last season with Enfield and unfortunately we didn’t quite do enough to stay up but from a personal perspective I was fortunate enough to get a few goals even though I wanted more because I’m quite hard on myself.
“As I’ve got older my game has changed a bit and I’m so now focused on goals. Perhaps my game has simplified – in a good way. I like to think I can score goals that get fans off their feet and hopefully I can produce a few of those at Tonbridge.”
Angels boss Alan Dunne added: “Lamar’s an ex-league player and comes here with plenty of experience. He played in a team that struggled last year but scored plenty of goals there which tells you something. He’s aggressive, strong and has good movement. I feel he’s the right fit for what we’re looking for and I’m really excited to have him in because I think he’ll score goals for us.”
