During yesterday’s excellent away win at Braintree Town, it was incredibly disappointing to see a group of young males, all dressed in black and purporting to be Tonbridge Angels fans, behaving inappropriately at the match.
Club officials witnessed a flare being let off during the first half and the attempted damage to metal panelling in the away end at the close of the game. Braintree stewards also reported foul, abusive and inappropriate sexual language being used by this group.
We extend our unreserved apologies to Braintree Town for the unacceptable behaviour of this minority who in no way represent the values promoted by our club and we disassociate ourselves from them.
We remind this group that we are actively gathering photographic evidence and should we witness any continuation of this kind of behaviour, either at home or away games, we will be issuing match bans in liaison with Kent Police.
We welcome and encourage good following home and away but only from those who share our club values and we are not prepared for this minority to tarnish the good reputation of Tonbridge Angels and our loyal fan base.
